In 1989, culturally defining moments were taking place, all around the world.
Chinese intellectuals and students protested for months, and were subsequently slaughtered for freedom of rights. The Americans were at the election polls, ready to endorse the first of the Bush dynasty and its ensuing Iraq saga. And the Germans were tearing down the Berlin wall by hand.

All the while in England, as the world emanated toward a path or greed and tyranny, the young and free sat in motorway service stations, eagerly anticipating directions to fields in the middle of nowhere. Fields of dreams immortalized in the memory of the UK dance scene.

Boxfresh was born from this - a hedonistic generation evolving through acid jazz, trip hop, drumb & bass, into UK garage, grime and dubstep.

Trends and people may have come and gone, but Boxfresh’s ethos has never changed.
